Lucy's Baby Shower - 31 Weeks

We want to thank all of our friends and family so much for helping us celebrate Lucy Leigh. It has be overwhelming to say the least....but who has better friends and family than us???

I was so surprised to have my Arkansas ladies throw me a second baby shower. To tell you the truth, I had know idea people did that for the second or more children. However, they wouldn't take NO for an answer and I must say that a baby girl shower was so much fun. PINK!!! Ashley Post, Stephanie McElroy and Laura are the best! The shower was amazing. I had beautiful flowers, Lucy's "diamonds" sprinkled everywhere and a brunch set for a princess. They outdid themselves and I couldn't be more thrilled.

Also, there was a lot going on around town that day - the half marathon being one. Many of my girlfriends were either running or volunteering that morning, I couldn't be more proud of them all, so I was extremely surprised when most of them popped in for a bit to tell me congratulations and bring me goodies. It meant so much to me. AND, my best lady friend Cassidy traveled down from central Illinois just to see me on my big day...and bring me cheesecake. No one had a better 31st week during pregnancy than me.

I seriously cannot thank my friends and family enough. I love you all so much!!!

31 week pic - with my best boy

Is this not amazing?? My favorite flowers, brilliant diamonds and food....yes!!

Ashley made me a diaper cake. It makes me so happy...and the boots are to die for. I cannot believe all the gifts I received. Lucy is so spoiled. Not only did my friends come from all over, but I was surprised by a few gifts from out of state. I opened a few gifts from mamaw and papaw sent to Ashley's house as a surprise. Are you kidding me??? Nope. I'm surrounded by awesome people.

Real cute pics of me opening gifts and Jude opening his big brother gifts after the shower.
He thought that was pretty cool!

Cassidy, Ashley and Stephanie. There are no words...You're generosity and friendship blow me away.

Let's also discuss a surprise baby shower for John and his co-workers from Wrigley. What?! John's boss and co-workers, Kevin, Brenda and Tom, put together a shower for all of us expecting families. THE. BEST. They had some cake, Olive Garden (oh yes!!), and gifts for all of us. It was such another wonderful surprise. Jude obviously enjoyed himself and made some friends.

I don't have pics yet of all the fantastic gifts I've received in the mail, but I want to shout out thank you to those of you who have sent Lucy really special things. You're amazing.

The Big 3-0

We've made it to 30 weeks. Lucy is kicking non-stop. And by that...I mean she wakes me up in the middle of the night already by rolling and rock-punching. And since we have 10 weeks or less left to go, I've been doing some projects for her room. John and I are really pleased at how her room has turned out so far. Her furniture is all put together and in place. We even cleaned the closet out this week. Lots of things to wash and check before little girl arrives. Much needed progress has been made. Cannot wait for my baby shower next week!! Little things to fill her drawers. So exciting!!!

Crib, dresser and rocking chair to go along with John's amazing woodwork. He also made me a set of bookshelves out of a pallet. We've got her name on the wall underneath her homemade puffs (pat myself on the back) and diamonds in the sky.

Cleaning Lucy's closet and room. Jude decided to practice for little girl. He got all his "babies" and blankets for them while holding them on the Boppy Pillow. Sweet child of mine.

Here is her butterfly ombre heart for the wall. A few nights of Breaking Bad and it was complete. I'm working on another painting that will go next to this piece where the butterflies will land.
Give me a pinterest project worth $165 and I'll make it for $7.

Since I've been doing art projects, Jude thought he needed to be involved too.

So while we are doing the baby room...why not spruce up the house a bit. Let me explain:) Jude loved shoving the long fluffy wool rug in his mouth as a baby AND he and his buddies smash cherrios down into it and I cannot get all the crumbs out. Since daddy is having a little Princess, it was pretty easy getting him to say yes to a new rug that I can vacuum over and that doesn't shed. We all love it.
It paid for itself the first day when we had a playdate with cherrios, sand and chips. Vacuum, done.

30 weeks and counting.

I love these guys!

Week 29

Warm weather is here for a few days. I'm wearing my strapless shirt to celebrate spring....and maybe get a tan. Last week in the 20's!!

29 weeks going strong.

These kids are adorable.

Mamaw and Papaw sent Jude some goodies to remind him how special he is...especially with all this talk about Lucy. Angry birds and cars to name a few. The video of him opening the birds is the best.

More hiking at Crystal Bridges before the rain. He loves the jungle, ha.

Week 28

This week and weekend has been so busy! First of all, I celebrated passing my orange drink test with flying colors with a sweet coffee drink. And then followed it with a black bean and spinach omelet because my iron is low. Boo. But I've got some extra vitamins to help me with that part. Still great news from the doctor. I'm heading into my every 2 week appointments soon. Getting closer.

We also celebrated St. Patrick's Day, friends, charity and the art's. Plus lots of treats. I'll have no more excuses once Lucy is here. What a fun week!

Found this little gem. It's not just me that takes Jude for ice cream....daddy!

Cameron's first day out after being cleared from tonsil surgery. Park, friends and sugar. Whoa!!

Finally some warm weather. Off to hike and cruise in the jeep with our windows down.

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Daddy rocks his old STP shirt and Jude got a new bike, in the perfect color.
We also had a wonderful game night at the Tice's with lots of green food. Thanks for hosting.

The day of STP we had green ice cream and a green bath. Why not?

Jude took me shopping to find a dress for the charity gala Saturday evening. After he approved the perfect dress for me, he requested a ride on a boat, train and dogmobile. Of course sir!

We look good polished up. Daddy and I in our new duds. We went out for a night to the Kiss the Pig Gala in support of Diabetes Research. Thank you again to the Tice's who watched Jude that evening.

Blues Traveler performed at the gala. They were awesome...I was really surprised. I'd see them again.
Jude doing a pretty good impersonation.

28 weeks

Chicago, Chicago! And all that JAZZ. John got me a ticket to go see the musical Chicago at the Walton Arts theater in Fayetteville. I laughed, I cried, but I mostly sang my heart out.
Lucy seemed to have a good time too!
